TECHNICAL DIVE TRAINING

Oceans have been sailed since humans were able to build ships and travel across the seas. Even so, thousands of years of history remain hidden in the watery depths, although most of the shallower and more accessible areas of the oceans have been explored, documented, and surveyed. Today, aquatic explorations go deeper, which demands well-trained divers who can explore the depths safely and efficiently.

Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) training is recognized as the most comprehensive and rigorous in the world today. GUE trained divers are often sought out and asked to participate in exploration dives, scientific projects, and expeditions because they possess both personal diving skills and proper risk evaluation skills. They are also highly trained for team diving, project diving, and task-oriented operations. High safety records put GUE trained divers in the forefront of exploration diving.

During training, divers receive a solid theoretical background which covers gas planning and management, decompression theory and its practical application, the benefits and disadvantages of various breathing gasses, extensive practical dive planning, and contingency management. The in-water teaching begins by building critical problem-solving skills. Possible scenarios are introduced in which students work together to solve problems in a safe, logical manner using existing GUE Fundamentals and new skills taught in the course. Progress is then made to ascent training and protocols, before moving to trimix experience dives where all of the planning, dive, and decompression management skills are implemented on a technical dive under an instructor’s supervision.
